Balancing Blooms and Batches this January
Share
Hi Friends!
The start of a new growing season always finds me standing in two places at once. This week, I began pre-sprouting our ranunculus for the 2026 season—hands in water trays, corms slowly waking up, the grow room humming quietly while winter still blankets everything outside. It’s the moment that signals the season has truly begun.
At the same time, the studio is warm and busy. Soap pots are going, shelves are filling back up, and I’m making products for the year ahead. January often feels like a gentle tug in two directions—soil and soap, grow room and studio. Some days I move back and forth between the two, feeling the challenge and the beauty of building a life and business that holds both.
Balancing growing and making isn’t always easy. Each demands time, attention, and care. But this season—when the ranunculus are just beginning and the year still feels wide open—reminds me why I chose this path. It’s about creating something rooted, intentional, and deeply connected to the rhythms of the land and the work of my hands.
While I won’t be at any farmers' markets this January, my website is open and stocked. If you’d like to support this early season of growth, you can shop online for handmade soaps and goods while I focus on nurturing what’s coming next—both in the soil and in the studio.
Thank you for supporting Bainbridge Blooms through every season—the busy, the quiet, and all the in-between moments that make this work meaningful.
